George Orwell will be spinning in his grave…….
Just a quick rant here people so hold onto your hats……….As many of us UK photographers are finding out, it seems like society is determined to make the job of being a professional photographer here almost impossible. I mean if you hear about one photographer getting stopped for looking like a terrorist you hear about twenty of these incidents. And just when we think to ourselves that this job could not get any harder you hear about a really bad idea coming from the very people who should be looking out for you.
The UK Government has, in such a terrible case of bad judgement, decided to basically screw with the copyright laws over here which will directly affect our abilities to make a living out of taking photos. Check out the full story here and just marvel at how bad it could be……I mean this industry is cut throat and hard enough without some pencil pushing idiotic politician deciding to basically say to the whole world…..’you like these photos?…….you didn’t take them though?…….it is okay use them anyway.’
Madness is the current thing over here at the moment. Common sense seems to be thrown away and the government seem to think that we are going to sit back and do nothing…..and the bad thing is, the current mob who are looking to replace this administration will probably be worse that the present incumbents. I really have fears for the future of this industry.
Oh and before I forget please spread this news about to everyone you know in the photography family and leave a comment expressing your own thoughts. The more people who know, the more we can do about it
……….stay tuned.
